Positive Psychology shifts the focus away from what is wrong in our lives to what is going well. It seeks to understand and promote the things that help people feel, be and do their best. It can help us focus on our strengths and values so that we can use them to overcome challenges and achieve our goals.
You can elevate wellbeing for yourself and others. You can learn what works well for you and notice what is good around you. Then you can create more of it and help others take notice too.
It is not about being positive all the time.
It is knowing that you can practice being positive....
and when you do, you get better at it.
Just like riding a bike, cooking, driving, painting, gardening, surfing or anything you do. You get better with practice.
Prof. Susan David
Listen to Dr Laurie Santos describe why getting curious about our emotions will improve our wellbeing.
